Seekers: A diverse community seeking to be grounded in love

The purpose of Seekers is to gather people from all walks of life to create a spiritual community / home for those outside of the present church community. Seekers mostly consists of neighbors of the church campus where I pastor and is mostly people that are formerly religious or have no religious background.
Day to day we connect through WhatsApp or Facebook messenger about our lives, meet once a month for a spiritual service (time for contemplation, a reading about Love, discussion, sharing about personal life and spiritual wonderings). We also serve by participating in loving action to our community.
What impact has your project had?
I am midway through my project. So far, the group has formed, loving action has occurred, the monthly gathering has doubled in size, and the group is taking shape nicely. Seekers has impacted the community by being a space for people who formerly did not have a spiritual gathering space. It has become a spiritual home for several people and I hope that this new year can deepen in the ways we connect through loving action and connect to the Love that is at the heart of all loving action.
Why is this project important and/or meaningful to you?
I enjoy getting to be part of what I believe the Holy Spirit is doing in this community and to see people connect with the Spirit in new ways. As someone who has always been concerned about mission and evangelism, it feels really meaningful to explore what this looks like in the modern church, in the context where I am currently located. I believe that my call has been both to serve and love the existing Church and to those that are not connected with the Church. This project allows me to pursue deep and meaningful connection with the larger community and to see how I might serve as a spiritual companion to my community.
What has your experience been with The 787 Collective?
The Collective has been a place for me to be mentored, nurtured, and supported as I pursue my call to ministry. The collective has put me in touch with other people that are passionate about innovative ministry work and has inspired me through those relationships.
What would you say to someone who is curious about becoming a campaign leader with The 787 Collective?
I highly encourage it! It is such a blessing to have the support, guidance, and mentorship that comes with being a campaign leader, not to mention being financially supported while pursuing your dreams in ministry!
How has being able to do what you're passionate about affected your spirituality?
Doing what I am passionate about helps me feel more connected to my call to follow Christ. I remember that I am first and foremost a child of God that can do all things through Christ. I remember that nothing is impossible with God and that my dreams and passions come from God who created me!
