Empowering young adult mission and leadership in the borderlands
I work for the Borderlands Young Adult Volunteer Program and we help create a binational community of young adults supporting organizations on the borderlands.
What progress have you made? What milestones or measures of accountability have you reached? What impact has your project had?
We have now reached the end of our 787 Collective project and our now documenting our work with a short film.
Why is this project important and/or meaningful to you?
It shows the good news on the borderlands that is happening through young adult leadership and faith.
What has your experience been with The 787 Collective?
The 787 Collective has given me tools and resources to help our program move into a new chapter of binational community for young adults.
What would you say to someone who is curious about becoming a campaign leader with The 787 Collective?
I would say that it is a great model of partnership for congregations to build with young adults without having the congregation’s agenda overpower the young adult’s voice.
How has being able to do what you're passionate about affected your spirituality?
It helps me pursue the gifts that God has given me and live into my vocation, which is an spiritual experience.
